Yet another busy week. Lots of work. Lots of trying to fit in time spent with wonderful people. I really had no plans on how to explore this weeks theme of Faith... not until a very fun photo shoot tonight with some of the cast members of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Not quite Faith as much as Faithfulness, or lack thereof.
I wonder how the Christmas week will effect next weeks images. Hopefully there will be at least a little more downtime in which I can try to be creative.

Week #2 - Music
Took this picture after rearranging all my things.
I was struck today by the feeling of being very fortunate. I'm not sure why, but it feels like, generally, a lot is going my way. I certainly have a lot to be thankful for.
This week finds me in a new, temporary job, which will consume all of my time but will also, eventually, pay me. Yay.
I'm also finished all school related unpleasantness until... the summer... or fall, or sometime very far away, and I'm quite pleased by this fact.
Okay, time for bed now. I'm excited to find out what the new theme will be... And at some point I'm actually going to explore some themes more thoroughly than I have so far. Though when that will happen is anyone's guess.

Week Two - Music
This isn't my real post this week!
Okay, well, yes, it kind of is. What I mean is that this isn't the idea that I had in mind for the theme this week. Unfortunately, exams sort of killed that idea. Or, they imprisoned it temporarily. I will finish my original idea after exams, and append it to another week!
Here's a picture of the box in which I keep my musical things, some sheet music, and my bells of happiness/fisher price bells. I didn't want to fall behind on only the second week of Ap&Ink 2.0!

Week #2 - Music - Jeff's First Post
Hello readers/viewers in far away or close enough lands. As you could probably tell, this is my first submission for Apertures and Ink. My name is Jeff, and I'm the brother of the other posters, Lauren and David, who I'm sure you're all familiar with.
This year, I've decided to take part in the wonderful adventure that is creating art, hopefully each week, and post it here for all to see. *shudder*
I'll keep the jibber jabber short, and get on with my first submission.
This week's theme is MUSIC! Very exciting!
I've been experimenting with some electronic drawings/photo manipulations, so over the course of time, you will probably see a few entries similar to this, or at least done with the same medium.
The idea for this image came to me while listening to Blackbird by the Beatles, which features birdsong at some points in the background. We all know that birds are nature's choir, with all the singing and what... but what do they do when they want to relax and listen, rather than sing?
Annnd the color scheme I came across when messing with color inversions. I think the fact that I'm in a very Christmassy mood helped me choose these.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this first picture, and I hope you enjoy the ones to come.

Week #1 - Change
So here's my pretty literal interpretation of "change," taken in the upstairs hall. I would have liked to put more work into this but I did decide to start off this year's project just before exams, just when all those silly papers are due.
There should be a bit more free time this coming week, considering the amount of actual studying I'm going to get in.
I hope you're all safe and snug in your homes during this lovely winter storm.

Year Two - Welcome Back!
Well it's been almost three months since the completion of the 365 day photo project that was the original purpose of Apertures & Ink. For three months this blog has not been used, but we're back with a new concept.
This time, instead of posting one random picture every day, each week a new theme will be selected at random and Lauren and I will have seven days to explore that theme in images before the next themes is selected. There's no maximum or minimum number of images per week set at this time.
I'm hoping that this new project will be a little less frantic but will inspire more well thought out and planned work from both Lauren and myself.
Welcome to year2!

#s 362, 363, 364 & 365 Marathon Post E - The Final Post...(?)
Here it is. The three hundredth and sixty-fifth day and the three hundredth and sixty-fifth picture. I honestly didn't think I'd actually follow through with this project and I definitely bent some of the initial rules but I'm very happy with where it has taken me and all that I've learned from doing this.
I'm not sure what will happen with this blog now, it seems a shame to let it end here. Perhaps Apertures and Ink will live on with a slightly different purpose in mind but for now, thank you for visiting the site and I hope you enjoy the result of a year of photography.

#s 345, 346, 347 & 348 Bad Pictures I Kinda Like
Jeff in the dressing room at the Reid before a Wonderbolt show. I'm taking a picture of him. His reaction - hit me with a club.
Very bad quality shot of a get-together in Natuashish. No zombie attacks this year.
Janet, surely you don't want alllll those boys. Natuashish graffiti. It struck me as funny.
Once again, testing out the zoom on my new lens.
Okay I'm getting down to the dregs but I don't want to have the pressure of having to shoot over twenty good pictures over the next three days and then edit them all as soon as I get home.

#s 340, 341 & 342 Labratour B
Just back from Wonderbolt's tour in Labrador and looking through the few pictures I took. Looking forward to time off before school starts.
I got a new lens (which these were taken with) 55-200mm VR! I haven't had a chance to really enjoy its awesome powers yet but stay tuned for more of what this little guy can do.

#s 330, 331, 332 & 333 The Park... Mostly
Jeff and telescope in Avondale.
Luke riding a unicycle in Bannerman.
James teaching Zack to ride a bicycle, also in Bannerman.
The Folk Festival, late Saturday night.
After tonight's performance we have TWO dark days! Two days off during the run! I'm so excited! There are a bunch of plans for how to spend those days and even if just half of them happen it should be a very fun and relaxing break. We also just got the Labrador schedule so if anyone wants to plan something amazingly fun like a camping trip or something between August 30th and September 9th, please let me know.

#s 328 & 329 Summer Time
Some old pictures of fun in the sun. I think the second one was taken by Lauren of a strange fantasy world in which I use a cell phone.
The last two weeks have been pretty steady go with rehearsals for the circus, but I think it will all pay off by our first show... which is tonight!! Get your tickets! I should be able to catch up to where I'm supposed to be on this site in the next week or so since I'll have a lot more time between shows than I have had between rehearsals. That being said, there are only about three weeks left to this one year project and I'm not sure what's going to happen to Apertures and Ink thereafter.
Anyway I hope you're enjoying your summer, I hope you will be coming to the circus (I seriously fear for my life many times through each show, so you better be there to appreciate it) and I hope I'll be able to post lots of pictures in the next few days to make up for my recent neglect for this site.
