#51 Good Question

I'm being someone else, can you tell? It's very fun but also very sleepy. See you in the morning.

Happy Halloween!

#s 49 & 50 Peculiar little creatures

Heh heh, forgot to resize them. That's better.

Drawing the fifty-fourth.

I read an entire book in one sitting last night, for the first time in a long time. It was nice.

Now, I'm going to fall asleep enjoying the sound of the torrential rain outside. There have been worse nights.

Drawing the fifty-third.

I guess this is a literal interpretation of some of the rather imagery laden metaphors that keep reoccurring in a book that I'm reading.

Or I could be crazy. I should be in bed, regardless.

Drawing the fifty-second.

Thanks to the magic of Youtube, I came across this rather excellent song by Josh Ritter. He adapted it from an old German poem called Der Erlkönig by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. I've spent the better part of today trying to figure out how to play it, because I can't find the chords anywhere on the internet. I think I've got it all now, I just need to figure out the fingerpicking...

Listen! It's awesome. (The audio is pretty quiet, you'll have to turn it up)

I'm being gobbled up and I don't know what to do.

Drawings the fiftieth and fifty-first.

Alright, time to get everything back on track.

#s 46 & 47 A Few Photos More

#s 44 & 45 The Return

My excitement over both Paper Towns and Fallout 3 has removed any doubt that I am quite geeky. Especially this week.

Drawings the 48th and 49th.

Here's the print I did the other day, and another line drawing. I need to figure out some way to make a press at home, so I can get the black parts fully black, without the little white parts where the ink didn't stick to the paper... hmm....

So I'm 3 behind, I think. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I'll get those up soon.

Night!

...soon

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have not forgotten about this project. I'm working to catch up on the days that I've missed, and they'll all most likely appear in one large entry very soon. I actually made a print today from some printing stuff that I picked up in Halifax, but I can't find my camera at the moment, so that too will be in the giant catch up post.

Thank you for being patient!

Catch Up

Oh, I have some serious catch-up to do, but for now I must just leave you with this picture, tell you that I'm incredibly tired, and fantastically happy about the most amazing concert I've ever seen.

Night.

Drawing the forty-sixth.

I'm off to Halifax tomorrow morning! So, no new posts probably until Wednesday (except from David. Right, David???)

So excited!

I'm going to Halifax to see Josh Ritter in two days! Wheeeeeeeeee!

#43 Jane!

Just fiddling with some filters in photoshop. I promise I'll start taking pictures again after my exams are over today >_< Wish me luck!

Up and Down the forty-third.

Another badly drawn, strangely colored household appliance? Why not, really?

Maybe a real drawing tomorrow. Yay!

#42 O

Ugh, need more sleep. Teaching in under an hour. Not going to... make it...

Ohio the forty-second.

Apparently when I'm up late writing papers, I try to take artsy photos of my earrings.

Who knew?

Bed bed bed bed bed bed.

(Rest assured, my paper will probably be as crappy as today's post. Woo...)

#41 Woof

I do not expect this week to be gentle, I do hope I survive, though. Academically speaking.

Oh, and say hi to Lily.

Drawing the forty-first.

I am currently waiting for my laundry to finish washing, so that I can go to bed, and still have clean (and dry) things to wear in the morning. Hence the badly drawn washing machine.

It's blue because it's all alone without a dryer. Ha. Ha.... get it? Yeah....

Drawing the fourtieth.

This is an uber lame drawing, but I'm tired. Also, pomegranates are awesome and kind of look like peace signs.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I did, and I'm hoping my week goes just as well.

Drawings the 38th and 39th.

Saturday's and Sunday's drawings! Today's coming soon...

#37 Untitled

Photo weirdness the thirty-seventh.

Weird.

Due to the Thanksgiving weekend, I will be posting two drawings on Sunday, or possibly three on Monday! Try not to waste away in sadness waiting for new posts...

#36 Mill's

Drawing the thirty-sixth.

When in doubt, draw a robot? (That little technique got us through hours of circus school...)

I inked this with a fountain pen, which I then proceeded to smudge. Argh.

It's very, very late.

Bed.

Drawing the thirty-fifth (Part 3).

:)

Done enough for now I think. I'll probably still work on it, maybe finish the shirt a little. I'll move onto something new tomorrow, though! (I might also scan it and repost...I'm far too tired to go all the way downstairs right now).

Birthday was good! I'll fill in the details tomorrow.

#35 Glow

This isn't a technically good picture but it makes me happy and seems appropriate as today was Lauren's birthday. I hope you all sent her your best wishes.

Tomorrow night there will be a good show down at The Ship. Go. You will have fun.

I have an intricate plan for the coming winter which involves getting a hot-water bottle and long underwear.

Very intricate.

#34 Crazy-tree

Happy Birthday Lauren!

Drawing the thirty-fourth (Part 2).

Still not quite done! I feel like I need to tinker with the shading, make it look a bit more lifelike. Tomorrow!

It's my birthday!

Now, go listen to Josh Ritter. Do it!

#33 Berry

I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch,
he said to me, "You must not ask for so much."
And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door,
she cried to me, "Hey, why not ask for more?"

Drawing the thirty-third. (Part 1)

A two-parter! Tonight, I just outlined his proportions a bit. The fun part will come tomorrow, shading, little quirks, facial expression and making him look more like a person. I hesitate even to leave it this way, it looks so soulless, but I am tired and I'll finish it tomorrow. Unfortunately, the picture I'm working with is teeny tiny. I'll have to try to look for a bigger version, if only to get the eyes right. Also, tomorrow I'll actually get up and go downstairs to use the scanner. The camera takes less effort, but definitely loses quality. Also...turning on a light might help. Mood lighting isn't great for pictures of white paper. Hmm, also I may have made a mistake in resizing. It looks a little wider than on paper. Oh well, I'll fix it in the final version tomorrow.

This is (going to be) a sketch of Josh Ritter, in case you were wondering. If you haven't heard of him, go look up his music right now. You will only be doing yourself a favor. Also, if you haven't heard of him, clearly you have not spent enough time with me, and you should come hang out right now.

Tonight was a seriously pleasant evening. I've actually caught up on schoolwork for the next day or two, so I've done some serious relaxing today. All night paper-a-thons are not fun, friends. Not fun at all. I took in a hot shower, and now I'm curled up in bed listening to excellent music.

I went to a fun party this weekend, and caught a couple of shows downtown. Live music and happy people. My favorite things. I'm going to attempt to get a few of those happy people I'm thinking of into my life a little more soon.

Technically, my birthday is tomorrow (Wednesday). Woo! Old.
I still have no plans, though! Agh, I need something fun to do.

Night!

Drawing the thirty-second.

I have come to accept the fact that life will not always allow me time to post drawings that I have spent any time at all completing, and that I am proud of. This is one of those times.

Thus, I have illustrated what I wish would happen to the terrible, terrible paper that I am currently writing. BOOM!

I have things to say, but no time! Tomorrow. Tomorrow.

Take my hand?

Oh the craziness.

Drawing the thirty-first.

I'm going to start a process piece tomorrow, methinks...

#30 Falling

Wanna go tumbling with me?

#29 Retro-cat

Blargh! I haven't really taken any pictures today, so I just tried playing with one of the only ones I did take. Experimenting with creating a vignette and playing with the colour curves and such. Not the greatest post but hopefully the weekend will yield more interesting shots.

Also, teaching went really well today! I'm excited to be making a bit of money while in school (at least for October) doing something really fun. Also it should mean a little more practice time since we often have 45 minute breaks during which I can use the gym and the juggling props. Yay!

Drawing the twenty-ninth.

Suddenly it rains? What a strange day...

2/3 midterms completed for the week. Music was much harder than I expected. That was an unpleasant surprise, I thought I was AOI.

I'm having a feel sorry for myself kind of night. Ugh. I think I'll curl up and watch Pushing Daisies before bed.

I'm old in less than a week.
